SUMMARY:2020 Virtual Blended Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) Course
DESCRIPTION:Due to the COVID-19 pandemic\, the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) has decided to offer the Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) Virtual Blended Course in place of all in-person CPSI courses for the remainder of 2020\, at which time the offerings will be re-evaluated for 2021. \nAs a result\, the NDRPA CPSI course scheduled for Dec. 1-3\, 2020\, in Bismarck\, is now being re-scheduled as a virtual blended course. \nThe virtual blended course will include the following: \n\nA CPSI Online Learning Course. NDRPA strongly recommends participants complete the online course (12 hours of online training) prior to the 4-hour virtual session; however\, it is not required. Completing the virtual session and online course is required before taking the exam. Participants will receive an email with information to access the course after the Aug. 18 deadline.\nA 4-hour\, live virtual training session conducted by a CPSI instructor through the Zoom video conferencing platform. NDRPA’s virtual session has been tentatively scheduled for Dec. 1.\nThe CPSI online\, computer-based exam offered at a PSI Professional Testing site or in the comfort of a secure\, quiet location (i.e. home office or office) with a compatible computer\, webcam\, microphone\, and speakers. The exam will be proctored by an online proctor who will require a 360-view of their space and be observing through webcam the entire exam.\n\nCourse Scholarships\nScholarships are available to NDIRF and NDRPA members. The first 28 individuals to apply will receive a scholarship ($410 value) to cover the course registration fee. This means members pay only the $115 exam fee to attend. \nThe scholarship is limited to four people per agency and distributed on a first-come\, first-served basis. If an agency submits more than four scholarship requests\, additional requests will be placed on a waiting list to be awarded after Aug. 18. \nRegistration\nThe deadline to register was Aug. 18. If interested in attending or have any questions\, please contact the NDRPA office at 701-355-4458.
